Bachelor’s Degree

Bachelor of Religious Education in Middle Eastern History.

The bachelor’s degree prepares the student for ministry with the most up-to-date information concerning the modern and biblical land of Israel, biblical culture, the Middle East and the foundations of the Jewish roots of Christianity.

Students are required to first take Introduction to Jewish Roots as a preparation for the terminology, scholarship, and sometimes controversial information that is taught in subsequent courses. The five foundational courses (which include Introduction to Jewish Roots) are required to be taken in the first semester. The second semester is designed to give students a thorough overview of the Bible from a Hebraic perspective.

All courses listed as research courses may or may not have videos provided. Students are given twelve topics and are required to develop questions from their own research.

Master’s Degree

Master of Religious Education in Middle Eastern History.

The M.R.E. qualifies the student as an instructor in the field of Jewish studies and the Jewish roots of Christianity with a complete understanding of the conception and development of the Judeo-Christian faith.

The five foundational courses in Jewish roots are required for entrance into the M.R.E. degree program. Students having graduated from the American Institute's bachelor program will have already completed these courses and are eligible for enrollment in the M.R.E. program. Students who have not previously attended American Institute must complete these courses required in the M.R.E. program.

To qualify for the M.R.E. in Middle Eastern Studies program, you must be a graduate of the American Institute, or already have a bachelor’s with a minimum of 120 credit hours from an accredited college approved by American Institute. Students transferring from other schools must enroll in a semester of five foundational courses at American Institute as a prerequisite to entering the M.R.E. program.

The M.R.E. program consists of seventeen three-credit-hour courses, for a total of fifty-one credit hours. These courses will be chosen with the assistance of an American Institute advisor prior to the course. In addition to the class material, the student is responsible for writing a ten-page paper for each class in the program, as well as a M.R.E. thesis of at least 40,000 words with an emphasis on bibliographical research.
